Sacred

We were a part of a sacred event at New Spring last night. Ken was ordained into the ministry. It was truly an honor and a privilege, as well as a realization of the awesome responsibility placed on him (on our family) as a result. I couldn't have been a prouder wife, sitting beside him and watching others lay hands on him, blessing him.

Wow! Congratulations to both of you! I was a MK/PK growing up, and while life did have many challenges being in the "public eye" it sure was an absolute blessing.

Issues

Having issues with our HVAC today. Funny how I just attended a focus group on home thermostats, and then ours starts acting up. I hope it's just being obstinate and that it doesn't mean that an imminent major repair of our system is coming up soon. I know that nobody 60 years ago had air conditioning in their homes, but I will still readily admit that I become a crybaby if I have reason to believe that mine will be taken from me....even momentarily! ....the funniest thing I've seen in a while. Watch this . On a more serious note, let's delve into this a little big deeper. Here are two Chinese guys who are (lip-synching) to an American song, who've memorized the lyrics which are not even in their native language. That is amazing. It hit me hard, too, as I grew up with a myriad of pen pals from around the world who spoke practically perfect English. I was ashamed that the only things I could say in their language were "hello" and "thank you," if even that. This makes me want to dig out those French and Spanish workbooks I have lurking in my attic and brush up on my language acquisition skills. (and....did you notice? It's not just us who sarcastically make fun of the Backstreet Boys.)
